Well, it's been the same drill.
You don't want your retarded teammate to lose the game instantly, so you drop raxes in the first 3 minutes.
You don't want your retarded research to fall behind, so you drop radar in the next 5 minutes.
You don't want your retarded teammate to keep feeding, so you drop VF asap after radar.
You don't want your retarded teammate to keep losing vehicles, so you drop a repair pad.

    Everything seems pretty streamlined now.

I don't think it's terribad or anything, and gameplay seems a bit simpler and more balanced in a fun way, but at the same time...it does mean the game is a little more predictable.

And I'm also a little concerned generally, because while things have tightened up considerably there's also this kind of feeling that the game is kind of 'done'. When it's really more that we have two slices of bread for a great sandwich.

Yeah that's not a major issue.

Although even the research is kinda predictable as well, you can still enjoy an unique game every time.

You either ragequit because this game is 3hard5u, or you love it and don't care about the "predictableness"

Yeah, but what's with all the ragequiting recently? Does "predictableness" mean that ragequiting is tolerated? Implying that you know you fight a totally hopeless battle when you only have infantry and enemy heavies are attacking etc. But that is late game. I see people leaving even in early-mid game. How can you be "mad" at noobs when they're no tutorials? Not even a video on youtube. The only tutorial I found is this http://empiresmod.com/help/ and it's outdated. Team should not be considered balanced only when vets are on both teams. We need trained players, this is not tf2. (kinda out of topic) #stopragequtting #antiragequitmovement

Actually the ragequitting is stopping like half of the awesome wins that used to happen. People are just weak now. They leave games that have more of a fair chance of winning, and rob everyone - including themselves - of great turnarounds as a result.

The other day we had a team go from 14 players to 9. And it was about early mid game. And the other team stayed at 14 players from then. It was ridiculous.

There are three types of ragequitting.

One is newb quitting(uninstalling) this game because this game is hard to learn and this community is retarded/egotistic.
One is regular player qutting a round when there's literally no hope, this is totally fine and acceptable.

This last one is the only type that I actually hate, regular player quitting a round, thinking he's losing when he's not. This happens everyday because 98% playerbase really can't read a round properly.
People don't understand that their quitting can actually kill the remaining hope.

The thing is, if you can spend more than 6 months on Empires, you probably won't uninstall the game for good.

People are too bad nowadays. We should host seminars and lectures to the players.
