Just downloaded the good old game and really enjoyed it. (http://www.openttd.org/en/download-stable) Started a new game with default settings and currently I'm in the year 1982. But I have some questions: - Currently I have a oil rig but the city next to the oil refinery don't allows me to build a harbor (corruption has not helped). Therefore I have a harbor at another location and a rail station next to it. Three trains are waiting for the oil. When only one train is waiting the ship is leaving too early and transports the oil back to the refinery. Is there no easier way to solve this? - I receive newspaper messages that electrical trains are now available but I can't see them in the build menu. - There are about 10+ different signals for rail roads. Do they have different meanings? - How can I scroll on the overview map? - Is loading and unloading much slower when the train is too long for the rail station? Can a rail station be upgraded by building a new rail station in front of it?
Dizzyone is a fucking openTTD master. Anyway: And now, to counteract me being nice to you, I must throw it the other way by posting something offensive to Germans. My last openTTD games with Slade and other empires people. He was green. Oh also, if you want the original graphics, sounds and music for nostalgia (I personally use the classic music, classic sounds, but updated graphics) then make sure to grab the original TTD off some abandonware site. Install TTD with all 3 of them, then use the newGRF system to update whichever of the 3 you wish to have the openstuff of.
Well, the French discovered it, and the British named it and found uses for it (rubbing pencil marks to erase them. Also, used for the mack.) :-p
Thanks for your help. I will try it. And I should have the original TTD somewhere. I played it a long time ago. Must be on my old Pentium 1 PC.
