I wonder if themaze can be made to choose a random maze (depth-first search, then add the 4 exits to the middle and the 4 double entrances around). Could be cool, since you'd have to remember how the maze configuration is that round (the minimap would have to display cells without indicating which walls are missing)
We need some pugs highlighting artists. Unfortunately I don't know all of the guys making the maps, so a tribute to them would be very cool, and bring them into the spotlight. It would re-enforce who contributes. We could announce in the middle of the screen for the map start time the artist who came up with the map, original or mod to another artists original, yada yada... Drag those guys out of the dark and give them the credit they deserve.
