I think title explains itself. Little story: I wanted to killspawn to another barracks. New player revived me. So I wrote into chat that he should not revive me and pressed kill again. New player revived me. Walked into deep water and pressed kill again. New player revived me. Dived into deeper water and finally managed to spawn at other barracks. And I think that the new player wasn't a griefer. He just wasn't that clever. If you kill yourself then instead of the revive icon there should appear crossed out revive icon.
I got stuck in a crate the other day, luckily I was able to kill myself and be revived instead of having to walk all the way back.
It used to be like this, then someone changed it so that you could revive suiciders, but doing so would give a point for reviving, then someone removed gaining a point for it (squad or something? I don't remember whether it was engi or squad point). Conclusion is that it's a feature and it took a while to get to it, I don't think theres anything wrong with it, it's always annoying to get revived when you don't want to. This has nothing to do with suiciding, anyone who dies should have the option to allow being revived or not being revivable. Like when you die, either suicide or getting killed, you get the option written in the center of your screen: "Press "e" to block being revived". If you don't press e, everything is as it always has been, if you do press it, the icon above your head dissapears and you won't be able to get revived. Alternative could be that once you press e a second option comes up "Press "e" again to unblock revive".
cb implemented a force kill command, I don't exactly know how its called. try something like forcekill, force_kill, killforce, kill_force, have to look it up.
I think an alias would be enough for that: Code: alias "fkill" "emp_force_kill" Then fkill will do the same thing.
I am pretty sure people STILL get squad points for suicide reviving. That NEEDS to be fixed. Some of the noobs have discovered this and are starting to exploit it.
u cannot do that right next to your spawn. at least you gotta find you some enemy turret somewhere ...
You also can spam explosive grenades at yourself while someone else is healing/reviving you. But fortunately all the point farming methods becomes boring quite soon.
Dead people should have to run back to the instance portal unless a priest or engineer is on the team to revive them.
I watched a team of 5 people stay in their base, 4 engineers, 1 rifleman. The rifleman kills himself, the engineers would revive. They were getting a squad point every second easily. Using these points to revive each other later when rushing into a base. Part of the game as I see it. It at least takes something on the other team to do damage to you, and its not a squad point a second.
