Exactly what it says on the tin. I made it a poll because I like polls. I also added the idea suggested by Demented here: Edit: I forgot to make the Poll show who voted for what! Sad face:
Spawn protection is bad. I feel that it's a workaround rather than solving the problem that is spawn location and model layout.
In other words, invisible walls blocking the enemy. Hey, it works in TF2, we just need a big fat 'No' sign on the front, right?
I voted no. I like mines in raxes - in offense or defense. I think a tight area where players spawn should probably be a no-zone for mines, but that leaves a fair bit of the rax left for mines, which I still want. If it's a choice between no mines and mines in raxes...well what we've got isn't bad - with the spawn protection workaround.
People just need ot open their eyes. Raxes don't have the issue of most other buildings where mines will clip through the floor and be invisible, unlike NF armories, both VFs in places, the radars and a few other's i forget.
biased vote, yes is this long as thing, no is one word long and looks uninteresting, and third road whatever looks kind of interesting. But no, it hasn't really been a huge problem, to fix it the spawn point should be in an elevated place not reachable from anywhere, so you have to like jump down.
If mines didn't sit under the floor in the rax so that they are invisible. Then I wouldn't care. But that's not the case. So remove spawn protection, and don't allow mines in the barracks. Besides placing a mine right outside the barracks (on the ground) pretty much has the same effect.
As much as I like to spam mines in the rax, I know the rage of stepping on them or having teammates stepping on them.
A biased poll would be one where I try and persuade people in the poll (Yes, for awesome points; No, I'm a moron because I disagree with the person who made the poll) or where the questions and answers are made to mess with people. (Heads I win, Tails you loose) I kinda see what you're saying, but I don't think it's really a big deal how long the answers are. I made the first one long and the second one word to avoid confusion with double negatives, and it just happened the exact way it is by chance. I could have made the poll question have no negative and/or switched which answer had the drawn out wordage.
This has never been an issue. If you die to a mine in your spawn once, it's ok, you can get over it in 2 seconds. If one dies to a mine in your spawn more than 2 times, one's simply a retard and just because some retard is a retard doesn't make it justified to remove ability to drop mines in a barracks.
As much as I'd love to, I can't edit polls after I post threads that have them. Besides, that's practically another suggestion and wouldn't fit in the original poll anyways. Besides that, I think this idea could work very well, but I'm probably not imagining all the negative drawbacks at this late hour.
As I use mines to incapacitate a main rax to make it easier to take down a base. I'd hate to see this happen. So, no.
