I liked the other concept art, this is pretty... meh... I don't know, and I thought it was going to BE when I looked at it. I think BE colours fit way better then NF. The other concept art made it also look high tech, therefore I think it fits BE more...
basically everything behind the engines and large other parts are wip as i said just keeping you updated, and this was always a model for NF not for BE edit: oh and kalos, 5 people could stand next to each other in the back, its just that the perspective makes it look thinner
I like it, and I think it fits NF well enough. The cockpit doesn't look great though, I don't like the two separate canopy idea. Also I can't imagine the canopies actually being transparent in-game, it might have to be more like the viewport on the BE CV or something. Definitely looks like a Hind though, which kinda contributes to its NF-ishness
Well change the cockpit, and change the thrusters. The thrusters look rather odd, and the cockpit.... well, I am not fan of copying real-world stuff.
hehehe, well, humans are copycats... so its kinda natural i believe one scientist once said 95% of every invention ever made was copied from something else (nature etc) SOMEWHERE also im redesigning the cockpit atm, already cut the pollies in 3 parts :p but yea, lets let this thread die because mayama does not like it when i show stuff because its bad for the team
Mayama is an overproud git. He justifies his rule about not posting WIP's by stating that it is a rule. Blizzerd, you are making the model, you have every right to post WIP's. Mayama has no right to control what you do with your work.
I dont forbid anyone to show stuff to other people. Its about beeing a team and showing stuff in the public, like the empires forum, when the team is ready. If you post random pics and show people stuff that the team or leader (zenarion) "has not agreed on" you only erode the trust in each other because a team has to stand behind every single action of one of its members no matter if they want or not.
That does not sound like a team, that sounds like a bunch of people ruled by a dictator that desides what you will make and what you will post. And how will that "erode" the trust in each other? Community feedback is what I concider to be rather important. What if over 90% of the community doesn't like the concept? What if someone made a model or a concept and no one likes it? Yet you spend days and weaks making it. If you would have shown some pictures or a sketch on what you are planning to make then we won't have people whining at the end saying that it sucks, therefore, you wouldn't have wasted months making something that no one likes. And didn't you all voluntary join the dev team? You weren't forced, so it's up to you what you post. Sorry, but this all made it seem like Blizzerd needed some kind of permission from the staff to post his work.
I personaly dont care what the community aka the empires forum says about "art decisions" because the negative and generaly conservative attitude of this forum is not a good soil for creativity. Another point is that we said we want to keep it low and dont draw the attention of the public aka empires forum for a reason. We dont make ONE model we make a complete overhaul of the models in empires. We have a whole forum and IRC to discuss stuff its not like theirs no feedback.
after you ignore the posts from trolls, idiots, people that don't want change, people with an IQ below 80, those that don't actually play empires anymore and chris you can get some really good feedback. admittadly, you're now ignoring 80% of people, but you get some good info out of it.
Match point! Don't post early sketchup WIPS without Mayama's approval. You will get eaten alive if not for the lack of attention the art forum gets.
