Hello, many of my friends play empires mod and have urged me to post this. I am a texture artist that has worked with many games ( mostly sourcemod) This is my first skin for empires mod, the colour is not correct, but I would like people to comment on this and reqeust what they would like changed. Doesn't look bad, however, I think the green is too bright and the pants and the top should also have that red color of the under shirt he's wearing. It looks a bit too colorful right now.
Looks like you overlayed a concrete texture onto what was already there, the re-colour looks bad in my opinion. The whole point in soldier uniforms is to fit in to the surrounding so that they can blend in to the terrain, these bright colours would definitely stand out. (I'm just assuming you are going for realism?)
NF uniform is not camouflage, its more close to rank/regiment distinction then actual camouflage in both its appearance and its style, it resembles ww1 uniforms, those may have been the big shift from colourful intimidation to camouflage and blending, but still had a lot of classical elements incorporated they actually resemble some desert outfit for a ww1 regiment from some country as i remember
I was trying to make a point that having bright colours on a battlefield is not realistic in any sense.
I did not do so well on the NF soldier skin because I am not used to camo. But I think this skin will please some people. I think it's more logical that NF would be camouflage green since they're the guerrilla-like faction but I think everyone is used to them as the faded and rusty red faction. I don't think rust would go very good on a green skin, and rust is kinda the theme of NF. The green on the jeep to be more faded too, otherwise it looks too cartoony and stands out. If you're a serious texturer or skinner, though, I believe there are some untextured NF aircraft models that the dev team might want you to look at.

I don't know much about texturing, let me just say that first. That being said, the colours are a little "heavy"... if you try it with less saturation to begin with it might be better? The actual colour on the jeep is not bad...just a bit too deep and dark. Either that's something like the lightsource isn't active (the 1 increment I know about modelling, lol), or things are just dark? Dunno. Not an expert...Jeep just looks a bit dark - though I do like the shade of green. And the infantry skin is...well you know.
I like the jeep. A lot. Depends. My father prefers green, my mother red. That's why we have 2 green and 1 red couch in our living room, the entrance door to our house has a red and a green colored window. And it doesn't look bad imo .
