Finally got my new monitor. 24" with full 1080p. I can run games inside games so I can game while I game with it. Gonna' use it with my old monitor, maybe to run a turn-based game so I can game while I'm not gaming, or use it to watch the stock markets.
Maybe 14 or 15" actually, I'm terrible with estimating length. There it is on the right. I don't have anything to actually measure it with, but I do know that a piece of paper is 11" on the long side and my thumb is about 2 inches long and it goes about the length of my thumb and a half, so yeah 14" or 15" actually.
Looks more like a 17" Candles. Why do you deceive me so. I went from a 17", to a 17" + 24", it's a nice setup. Not as nice as 30" + 24" is 3333333333333333333333 Not that it matters, given my wonderful setup is sat in the UK gathering dust, whilst I make do with a 15" laptop screen.
Definitely not a 17", can't be past 15" at the most. Unless paper is now 13" long instead of 11". Still, it's a great upgrade. Only one problem though, and it's a pretty bad one. There is a single stuck pixel that I can see. It's a red one, and it's almost dead center of the screen. I'm almost ready to send it back even though I just got it because it's infuriating.
Tap the dead pixel. If it has a colour, it's probably just stuck. If tapping doesn't help, use UDP to get rid of it. 9/10 times you can fix it yourself.
So far I've tapped it more times than a Taiwanese prostitute, and it's still there. I'll run UDP over night and hope that fixes it. Wouldn't be so bad except it's impossible to not notice it all the time.
Yup, just send it back, even if you can massage the dead pixel away, it will come back in the most annoying moments.
I know I don't need it but I'm probably buying one of the 1440p Korean monitors making all the rage in the tech world. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Monitors-Projectors-Accs-/162497/i.html?_nkw=monitor 2560x1440&_sop=15 I like the Crossover 27Q LED-P the best due to its stand. Although I might get one of the custom made 100-120hz~ overclockable monitors being made via http://www.120hz.net/ Decisions decisions!
My monitor is 2560x1600 (1440p but in 16:10 ratio). They're fairly wonderful. Just keep in mind that it's not all about resolution. Buy a really cheap monitor purely on resolution and you'll suffer on things like contrast ratio, screen surface, pixel life, etc.
LG is pretty much the only company that makes 27" 1440p panels. So if you're getting a cheapass 1440p 27"er, know that Dell, NEC, HP & friends all had their fill from the one source of panels. If a $1000 and a $300 monitor can both use the same panel, there's some tangible difference between the two. I don't care about what happened to that one guy on that one forum. The odds of you getting a panel like him aren't great. Just wait a year or two and the 4K monitors will drive prices down. Buying a high res monitor right now isn't the smartest thing to do.
I have a 30" Hazro, 2560x1600. I think new it's like £800, but my friend sold it me for a bit more than half that. Realistically speaking, at those resolutions, the only makes I would go with are: Hazro Dell LG Apple Pains me to say Apple but they do make high quality monitors.
Productivity +200 I love having two monitors. I recently bought a BenQ V2420 LED and I'm happy with it so far. I don't understand why anyone would exceed 27 inches for a PC monitor.
You could have at least made a project to show on there instead of using one of the FL ones. I like 27 inches for more than just monitors
Maan, I think my monitor is too close for how big it is - it's a nice 16:10 22", but i'm only about a foot and a half to two feet away from it. It's just not far enough to see it all... Anyone else get that? Where the monitor is so large that you really stop seeing it all and just end up focusing on certain parts most of the time? I mean it's great for space, but as it is, it's a little too wide (and i'm too close) to see it all at once.
