Are farms a good idea/Suggestion?

    Now i was thinking of this idea of Farms or Houses. each farm or house will increase the tickets by 6 and will be roughly the size of an armoury or half the size of a barracks. they will be very easy to destroy and you cant build farms past the current ticket limit. This would also add more strategy fun and a wider selection of buildings for the commander to build.

    Tickets are to keep the game from going on forever.
    Buying tickets with res (an infinite resource) means games can then last indefinitely. On top of that, "farms" will take up map space, will take engineers effort to build, clutter the game and require new model resources.

    While the current ticket system is not incredibly elegant (sudden death needs a rework) this is not a very good solution.

    The Farms would be limited and easy to kill and small they wouldnt take up that much space and may be as easy to build as a turret or armory. but as you said that would make the game go on forever. Even so its quite rare for a team to loose via tickets. a simple tank rush would kill the Farms within 2 hits eliminating 6 tickets each. this would give more chance for a team to loose via tickets

    Go kill the enemy instead little basebitch.
    You already can lose by tickets, it's called dying and respawning.

    This is not a good suggestion, maps have already very tiny spots to place buildings at.

    It's kind of backwards in how the game is supposed to work.

    At the moment, the way to win by tickets is to kill more enemies while not dying, it rewards people who go out and fight well and get a good k/d ratio, this is a good thing.

    If ticket victories were more effectively won by spamming farms, that'd be kinda boring.

    I like this idea.

    I think we could expand on it by allowing both teams to research Apollo rocket components. A team, for example, could win not by tickets, but being the first to research and build a rocket to go to another planet.

    What if we made it so that instead the team that has a given percentage of the map covered in radars and their detection range automatically won? It would eliminate those long, boring waits when one team holds up in their base for most of the map.

    We could modify this idea by giving different buildings different 'cultural' value (perhaps we could have a Propaganda Tower that each team could build). Buildings of the other team could be converted to your team if the cultural presence of your buildings in a certain area overpower the culture of the enemy buildings.

    Perhaps theses buildings should increase in cultural value as the game progresses, so older buildings are worth more are old bases are harder to take? We could even make these "culture points" another way to win! Once a team reaches a certain number of culture points, they would win due to the other side realizing that their heritage sucks ass!

    Or maybe we could avoid bloodshed altogether and create a more diplomatic ending to maps? A building that costs a certain amount set in the map that when built and held for a duration, it ends in a tie! Everyone wins when no one loses!

    Best idea of the year.

    Now we just need a theatre building for increased culture output.

    And we could diversify ref points! Some of them could have cattle or horses, some rocks & minerals, others food sources!

    We could have different engines that run on food stuffs for teams that focused on food production. There could be horse drawn APCs that reduce the food supply instead of overheating.

    HORSE DRAWN APCS

    Suggestions like these aren't optional.

    I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO SOLVE LONG BORING MATCHES!

    What if we put a timer on them, again configurable by the mapper but with a default value if not set? At the end of the round we sum up the score of every player on a team, the value of their buildings, area controlled and so forth, for both of the teams. Whoever has the highest team score at the end wins~!

    Do it. Also make buildings only function when connected by streets. Simulate the manual labor needed for each action and make the players execute them.

    We could also introduce whipping.

    If a team wants to finish a building quicker, they just have to whip flasche to death a few times. He won't mind, it's for the collective.

    ...No seriously, stop these suggestions. This isn't a C&C or any other RTS game.

    That's a terrible suggestion. I would be much too scared every time my team discovered an enemy Hobbes.

    id rather be abused like in dungeon keeper - if you slap me only a few times ill do stuff faster if you do it too often ill be pissed and refuse to work ... ;)

    Isn't that how it currently works? The commander yells at his people, they do it sometimes, most of the time they just ignore him.
