SO far I haven't had a problem changing the sounds but for some reason, I can't change the tank cannon sound. Even when I put the new sound in the proper folder, it'll still play the standard cannon sound when fired.

    Any ideas?

no but im sure i have had this problem recently too.

    Its really quite frustrating.

DONT PFFT AT ME IF IM WRONG HERE but maybe its something to do with old sound file still being in the ram, so it doesnt load the new one ????

Look in the vehicle weapon script file. That's where the sound files are defined for each vehicle weapon.

Yea, I checked there. It's definately the correct file I changed but it doesn't seem to want to play the custom one.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the sound cacheing thingy cause there's just no way it should be playing the standard sound at all =/

Make sure you replace round2 in Empires\sound\vehicles\cannon, round3 isn't used.

I think there's some random command for flushing the sound cache, type 'find cache' in the console to find all the console commands that have flush in them, because I don't know/'m too damn lazy to tell you the correct command :p

I did that solo and I also tried the cache flush command but didn't work either :(

EDIT: Close or delete this or whatever. Found out what was wrong :)

Well I haven't really looked into this, but a solution might be instead of replacing the current round2.wav, try naming your file to something that doesn't exist like round4.wav and changing the vehicle scripts to match the new file name.

OR if that's how you've been trying, try the opposite, replace the sound file but keep the filename the same.

Had you done a search on your HD to make sure the game wasn't pulling those specific files from a seperate location?

I don't see how it could considering the weapon scripts define where to find them =o

I'm almost sure it's something to do with cacheing but any attempt at cleaning it has brought no result =/
