After not playing empire for a while, I decided to come back and take a look of how the game is shaping up, and nade spam is alive as ever. I played 1 round of district, and I could just sit behind an ammo box, throwing nades like candy and get kills. That is not right... A simple yet eligant solution can rid engineers of their "Grenadier" Job and also solve District's nade spam issue I see 2 possible solutions: 1. Make Nades seperate containters from the rest (Think old TFC, nades were seperate from the rest of the ammo) OR 2. Make a roughly 1 min "cool down" between each time you pick up some nades from the normal ammo box, so you can pick up sevral nades instantly but then you cannot pick up any nades for a set amount of time. The 2nd one seems the easiet to implement and would discourage nade spamming while still keeping their use. Any other ideas/suggestions?
It's best not to alter gameplay because of a single map, especially if it is a push map with narrow areas of any sort like district or escort. The grenades work well on other maps and the extra grenades are often needed to counteract other things in those maps. Look more into mapping solutions for district and less into altering grenades for the entire game.
In my opinion, the best way to solve this would be to have the ammo box give you just that ammo. No grenades at all, then you could have varying amounts of starting grenades for different classes. By the way I played V 1.0 for about a month and have played V1.05 for about the same time.
Know what's interesting. I don't play FLAG maps and find no problems with grenade spam whatsoever on regular maps.

maybe make it so that only 1 granade can be tossed at a time (and the other needs to be exploded before you can trow another) = realism = anti nade spam cous of trowing nades woud go way slower = benefactral for gameplay, cous you need to trow that granade yust right in the first time you trow
guys, just wait and see what they do, you are wasting your time posting about it untill you actually see their intended solution.
problem being you need to toss more nades at a turret at a faster pace than engies can repair it. the problem of nade spam is not the spam its the speed of wich one can restock the nades at and that you can restock nades and throw nades simoltanosly...
I'm not sure it's the simplest fix, but my idea would definitely solve the spamming problem, and would be far more realistic than anything I've heard yet: Make the grenades have physics even after they land. The spamming is a problem because 3-5 grenades can sit in the same spot, but there's at least a 1 second delay between their blasts. Each blast should at least shove the remaining grenades a fair distance. Only way to spam would be to have multiple people throwing at the same time.
my god brilliance in a bottle i want this for 3 resons 1: its cool and realistic 2: its possible cous hl2 allready did it 3: it woud make lots of interesting gameplay modifications (like nadespamming to the past)
