I've had this problem for about a month, my walls used to work fine but recently they starting messing up out of nowhere.

Whenever I drop a wall everything is fine for the first walls in my life, but until I die all my walls will connect from where I dropped that first original wall. So hypotheticly if I drop a wall in front of the racks then make my way over to the armory and drop one in front of that, it will have a giant trail of wails from my last placed walls to my current placed walls. Also if say, I drop a wall at my base...somehow make it to the enemy base and try to drop a wall I get the message "Wall length exceeded"...obviously that is because my original dropped wall tries to connect with the current wall I'm trying to drop across the map. However when I die I can place a wall anywhere again but once I've placed the first one the cycle starts all over again.

Yeah I get the same thing. Didn't clue in that you could repspawn then drop the rest of your walls elsewhere. I thought it was a feature at first.

    Maybe your empires has cancer.
That's the only explanation I can think of, calc-chemo?

Kk, let me see if I get this. You dropped a wall. You did this by clicking, moving over, and then clicking again. Then you don't drop anything else until you go to drop another wall?

It could be that the game is saving the last click point and trying to build a wall from that point to the current point, which is how you are supposed to be able to do it. It's easier than dragging at least. But I've never tried to see if that click save location thing saves after you respawn or something.

Has anybody tried right-clicking a few times after placing down walls and then trying to get this bug?

That video shows exactly whats wrong with my walls. And what do you mean by that solokiller? Place a wall and hit right click a few times to see if it fixes?

Ive tried that a couple of times and it doesn't seem to affect it at all. I've already reinstalled which I was SURE would fix it and well it didn't.

I might try deleting empires and getting a fresh install.

Reinstalling Empires doesn't fix Empires bugs.

    haha communism,
ive learned to live with it.
its a pain in the ass if u try to wall in the enemy comm and it says wall limit exceeded haha.

im waiting for OB, hope that fixes it.
We can maybe compare our installed software on our comps and figure out what software causes this crazyness lol

thx LordDz for posting the link.

some did a videorespond on my video, but i commented on it that its not the right fix

Thats funny, whenever I place walls as engineer, I ALWAYS do this. It just makes sense. Or maybe I just got used to playing a buggy game, and subconsciously started taking precautions to avoid potential bugs.

    I know the answer.

Replace every "wall" with "ball" in the first post. Read again. Problem solved.
