This is one of those 'realism' issues, rather than an actual bug, but I find it somewhat amusing that a Brenodi Tank has a single barrel, yet can manage two normal cannons down that one barrel. That's one heck of a good dual-feed loading system! Whilst I can see why the ML slots (technically, they're all rockets, except for the cursor-guided and radar-guided missiles) can fit multiple and that doesn't bug me, nor do the machineguns (because who really uses anything except the light/medium chaingun?... oh, wait, I do, because the HE MG is great for helping out vs. turrets on Escort :D) In other words, the cannons should be limited to one weapon per barrel from my POV. It's a bit of a heavy nerf, especially for early game units, but with it, an NF Heavy Tank can fit 3 guns, and I haven't checked the Brenodi Heavy, but IIRC it has 6 cannon slots (enough for two plasmas or two railguns) Admittedly, the weight costs are usually enough to counter this (6x100 = 600, a fair portion of the BE H. Tank max weight capacity), but still... It's a realism thing. It's fun though (with the current system in place), and it's a good self-teach for working out the weapon assignment/firegroup system.
The NF Heavy has 3 cannon slots, but more armor. BE heavy has twin cannon slots and less armor. I don't really think that his is an issue. A bit far from realistic point of view, but then again throwing buildings out of thin air isn't exactly realistic either. :D This thread might fit the Suggestion forums better.
Heh, keep in mind that the world of empires takes place on another planet (Possibly in another universe) thus your POV as well as others POV doesnt apply because tho similar to us and part os the Homo Genus (We are of course Homo Sapien) they are not really us they could use completely diffrent system that has never been thought of. Infact its not 2-3 shots at a time its a bust of 2-3 shots which could probably work similar to metalstorm. in this case 2 shells are loaded and each is set off seprately. On a side note as Wereaser said each sides vehicles have their strenghts and weaknesses. But I do see where your going with this and the point your trying to make. For that you get a cookie, *Hands Exo a cookie".
I had a heavy tank with 6 standard cannons on it earlier. Just sat at one end of the map (money) shelling the enemy base =P
Damnit dee! Don't steal my ideas just when I read the thread! I was thinking (literally) the exact same thing... damnit... *grumbles* -Sheepe
I did something like that with 2 missiles and 2 cannons (If i remember correctly) and it sucked.. since I suck at using vehicles But I'll try that 6 cannons thing.. When theres a thing that can take, for instance, 3 slots of weapons, do people take 3 single slot weapons or a single big 3 slot weapon or a small single slot and a double with it? I like to take 3 single slot ones.. they do more damage. Anyone else?
Good point realisim is kinda lacking in certian areas and personally how can a little cannon sent a huge heavy tank a few feet back and the barrel a foot up  gets kinda annoying when trying to destroy a turret or something and you have to keep correcting the tagetery and for something that isnt even an instant hit weapon like the railgun I want to see a stream of fire that lead to were it hit the target from being fired so fast hmmm this gives me an idea, "runs off to start new thread" O forgot something "shoot Jn in the ass with a tranquilizer gun and goes back to thread"
6 cannons is hard to use. The recoil on the first shell is enormous =p And you have to strip armour almost all the way .
I've tried 6 cannons, major difficulty to get decent shots off. You end up trading mobility, armour and accuracy for firepower, which is okay if you have back-up to absorb hits for you, but I don't think it's worth it.
dont use 6 cannons do what i do use 3 missles and 1 rail gun if you have your heart set on the 6 cannons then get cool base engion lol
Twin Railguns on BE heavy. :p Can you say full-auto cannon? :D The only problem is that you'll run out of ammo in no time and Railguns are damn weak damagewise.
