Well, it's Jan 20th, and the Player's Choice awards are due to be announced some time today. I hope it's not too late, otherwise I'll have to wait till Sunday to find out the winners! Don't get your hopes up. Empires is a very good mod, and for me the best that is out there (at least at the moment). But I'm afraid when it comes to voting people tend to choose those mods which 1) look great 2) sound great 3) are easy to play/understand as a beginner Mods like Minerva en Eternal Silence probably will be more popular. I hope I'm wrong though !!!!
I did have a dream that Empires won, but then I was like, "hmph, well back to work on 1.08." So it's no big deal who the winner is.
You could use the money I don't really care if Empires wins or not, but if it was MY mod, I would sure care about winning the money :D
Meh, Minerva is cool, but IMO multiplayer mods > single player mods. A lot of these single player mods might have incredible depth and such, but they are usually just made by one person or a few people. Why not let the mods that have TEAMS of people working probably what is like 24/7 to provide a multiplayer experience, trying to reduce glitches AND improve gameplay? Not to mention that Empires is a large-map, vehicle based, structure placing game, all of which doesn't exactly SHINE in the Source engine. I say give credit where it's due :D
I know, I'm beginning to doubt it too! Oh well, I probably won't get to find out until tomorrow morning then. Good luck Empires!
I wish I could make myself a macro to refresh the moddb site every 5 seconds right about now so that my hand can stop bleeding.
wow...i could care less. just because a mod wins doesnt mean that its gonna suddenly PWN J00!!!11teh1z. i would rather a bunch of zombie mods be released, so that i may pwn zomboes
Ok, well it's officially been the 21st here for over 10 hours, and still no sign. Even stranger, nobody else seems to have noticed, it's not mentioned on the forums anywhere! Maybe I'm just being impatient, but when they announce a deadline they should really try to keep to it.
