I don't think anyone mentioned this one...I saw it and had a little idea - make the mortal deployable. Remove it from the selectable weapons you have, and to use the mortar, have the rocket launcher out, crouch, hit deploy and then you get a 3-4 second animation while you deploy before you can fire. Just hit deploy again and keep on running and you have you rocket launcher again.

    Just an idea...

Yea, good idea, but the un-deploying shouldnt take much more than 1-2 sec. However, why not keep the mortar-slot?
Another suggestion: Make a thing for the mortar that shows you the distance to where you aiming at and show your distance from scout-marked targets.

There's no need to change anything. NF mortar and rpg take seconds to reload. You won't see dubee taking out everything as NF grenadier. When BE gets new models (animations too) problem will be resolved.

But it could be a nice addition. You could still use the mortar as you´ve always did, but you can deploy it for the distance-showerthingy.

Anything to stop/slow down the rediculous mortar spam is fine with me.

It's ridiculous only when grenadier is in BE.

It's rediculous no matter what team is using it.

Sounds like a good idea, satchel charges come to mind for the then empty slot. And after you dropped 8 mines and have the ability to drop satchels (which could be made to detonate mines if a baggy blows near one) can the 9th mine be impossible to drop, some blocker to keep people from 9 mining.

mootant... i still fuck shit up as NF gren.. that reload time does nothing to my score

and this suggestion seems very realistic.. but will it be more fun? no

if your gonna add this then the shells need to be HE and reach alot farther

grens will be completely mowed down if they have to do all this.. it takes a few well placed shots to take a tank down and if you are inmobile he will just run you over..

It won't be more fun for those who abuse the mortars but it will be for those who like balance.

Besides, you have the rocket launcher.

The guns are already spray machines, it takes about .2 seconds to kill a grenadier, so why make it even harder to be a grenadier? It is much easier to kill with SMG's and Roffles as it is. There wouldn't be much of a point in using the mortar at all.

Triple the damage of the rocket launcher and it might become useful.

Because a grenadier isn't supposed to be effective against infantry at all.

It wouldn't be effective against tanks either then.

sure it will. Tanks will just have a chance to defend itself now.

Ok Mortar Deploy sounds good. Make the mortar be able to do 2-3x damage to make up for the fact we will get slaughtered easily by tanks. Also with a long delay at least make the rocket have 4x the damage because the rocket will be on the quick fire weapon we have.

For balance sake then, take out all Engineer SMGs because right now they can easily kill scouts and grenadiers, and they are supposed to be a support class.

Make riflemen grenades do 0 damage to buildings and vehicles because riflemen are supposed to just kill troops, they shouldn't be able to take out a vehicle or even a building.

i've said this before but no matter what you guys do to the gren.. I(we) will adapt and still fuck shit up.. who knows maybe this suggestion would make grens even more overpowered.. but i think you guys are confusing someone whos good with an overpowered class..

really we are too far into 1.8 to make big changes like this.. maybe little things like stamina loss after each shot would help like what was talked about earlier

Anyone can argue that any class is overpowered, it's all based on your perspective. Dubee doesn't really care either way, because he pwns people, but those people that he pwns I'm sure feel nerfed.

Classes in Empires have always been multi-role and very powerful, it's not BF2 with like 10 classes that all do one thing or another.
