More speed for Scout Just played Quake 3 Team Arena. There you can run really fast when you have the scout skill. Why not add this to empires? Just give Scout unlimited stamina. So Scouts will be able to scout for enemies in front of their team. This can be usefull at map start: Run to important chokepoints, use hide and kill the incoming enemy engineers. Also will be usefull on flag maps. Scouts can rush for the flags, but because they have no powerfull weapon it will be hard to hold the flag. When they are hidden, then the stamina should work as usual (else would be overpowered). Addition: Also make enhanced senses an initial skill of scout. Then we will have real scouts. Run in front of the team and scout for enemies. Pro: -Scout will be more fun to play.-Scout can do his work better (to scout) Con: -Might be overpowered Alternatives: -Instead of unlimited stamina give Scout faster stamina recharge or more initial running speed.
Instead of having perma run, why not just increase natural max speed for scouts and give them a higher stamina recharge rate.
...and make it possible to hide in all stances and let it use stamina too. So you need to decide, very fast or stealth.
YEAH,just look at sips squadhide melee-upgrade abusing in escort somewhere in this forum.... O HAI SIP :p
I'd prefer buffing their stamina. Players would still need to budget their running and jumping and use both wisely.
Scouts already have a faster regen stamina, I wouldn't be against making it faster though. On that note make rifleman slower from all the body armor they got.
Ok after more testing, scout recharges about 2 seconds faster then engi. Rifles take about 4 seconds longer then engi. Grens take about as long as engis Stamina upgrade reduces recharge by about 4 seconds. Edit: Vehicle speed in CVs is hilarious
There are different options to do this, but most of you like more speed for scouts. So probably the scout gets a new role: The fast guy for special things Engi: building/repairing/healing Rifleman: Anti-Infantry with a little Anti-Tank Grenadier: Anti-Tank with a little Anti-Infantry
