If you want more players in Empires than get in contact with the moddb team -> www.moddb.com. In case of timing it would be wise to do this at the time of the official 2.25 release.

 

Personally, I feel we should wait until we have some new goodies, such as
1. Steamworks
2. New GUI
3. New models
4. Better balance

At the moment I don't feel comfortable advertising the mod beyond the core community. There are still too many problems that I feel would drive away new players from the mod.

 

2 more years of waiting? =/

 

It needs to be a more solid product before released to the masses.

Well, I don't find putting new pictures and a new trailer on moddb, but not necessarily interested in a big media push until the mod is more solid/balanced.

 

Solves every issue.
The solution is, add blimps to attract players!

 

empires was already on moddb years ago...
in my opinion this mod is solid enough, there are other mods which arent that good by far...

at the moment empires is barely playable because most of the time there is just one server filled and its located in america...

It seems a little bit to me like that the devs have been brainwashed by the constant nagging of some bored vets on this forum. If Krenzo would have thought like that, half of us wouldn't know that Empires exists. Every update is a perfectly valid reason to make a mod a little bit more known. Empires is already a good mod and this update makes it even a little bit more newbie friendly, so i don't see a reason at all to be quiet about this update.

It is a different thing with putting Empires on Steam, because this is a one time chance to reach many many more casual gamers. Empires isn't ready for that, but Empires 2.25 is perfectly accetable to be announced by all other channels available. Have a little bit more faith, it is one of the most played mods for a reason.

 

Just post a simple text-only news update on the ModDb Empires page. Chances are it will be plastered on the ModDb front page instantly.

 

at least the major problems like arty does almost no damage need to be fixed bevor release

because of moddb i got into empires and now im playing it for years...

im glad noticing that some others think the same way
