Here's an alternative for the whole LT vs. AFV balancing. Give all passengers in an AFV the ability to fire. Seat 3 and 4 will fire out of the sides of an AFV on the left and right respectably at a lower height. They will only be able to fire out of their respective side and only have 180 coverage. Seat 2 will stay where it is. Pros: -AFV actually fulfills its role as a fighting vehicle -A fully loaded AFV with grenadiers and/or rifleman is a force to be reckoned with -AFVs promote teamwork! Cons: -Might be overpowered early game (but honestly I would like to hear that statement just once...) -Less AFVs on the field (due to less drivers and more passengers) Alternative: -Only let the Mk II AFV have this feature
not an original idea, but i still like it something was wrong with this though, cant remember but developers said it was bad afaik i could be wrong
A BE AFV loaded with Engineers doing a drive by Seismic Grenade toss while spamming 'Aaaawwwwwww Yeeeeeaaaahhh' has always been a wet dream of mine.
Alternatively, stick a bunch of gren's in there for RPG volley rape. Or a mortarwagon, or a minefield layer... I don't know, something about this seems off.
sounds fun, and you don't have to worry about the programming issue with having the top slot. however, the players would probably have to be exposed somehow.
Hey, I got a better IDEA, how about we allow this once MK2 is researched? Will make MK2 a lot better for BE
And where is the position of the side players? Stick with one hand to the AFV and fire with the other hand (easy job for Rambo).
unfortunately, it would take some modeling work, and that sounds time consuming, but I'm sure they can just make firing windows on the side (or if you are really adventurous, then you could add sidecars )
Lol, now people will fight for the 3rd and 4th slot because the 2nd one fucks up when driver moves mouse
I think the AFV is already getting remodeled, so I imagine adding extra infantry ports wouldn't be too much more work.
Should be like a WWII halftrack with a cannon and infantry seats. :> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Half_Track_Car http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...rmored_Division,_Engers,_Germany_03-27-45.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SdKfz_251
just for testing balance purposes, is it possible just to use the current model and bind the player entities on the side? it'll look ridicules, yes. but it can quickly see how balanced the feature would be without haven't to invest too much in the overhead first. I can imagine this being really well for BE early game if they work together (working in teams of four with an AFV taking down buildings, tanks, whatever) or just not used (everyone just telling com to get meds while everyone just runs around in their own AFV, like how it is now) like I said, it's all to encourage TEAMWORK! The feature is only as powerful as the BE team that actually coordinates itself to use it.
