Thought I might write these out. The boss is out and i'm bored. If any of these contradict other things already said then start yelling.

Immediately after the Brenodi takeover of Jekotian territory, Territorial Councils were formed to administer the vast Shire's of the former Empire. These councils were made up of former Jekotian public servants, and headed by Brenodi Adminstrators. Additionally, the major cities and surrounding Shire's were controlled by a Brenodi Governor. From the beginning the Territorial Councils were completely ineffective, and were setup to give some form of legitimacy to the newly formed Administration, however the former public servants soon found themselves out of work, to be replaced by more loyal colleagues. By the time the first outbreaks of organised protest were occuring, the TC's had virtually no control whatsoever over any policy or facet of Jekotian life.

The Jekotian economy under Brenodi rule was dismal. The local currency was scrapped in favour of a form credit, which could be used to redeem food and other necessities, all of which were supplied by Brenodi industry, transported via train and air. The massive amount of new infrastructure required, including new train routes and buildings was fullfilled by Brenodi labor and industry. Indeed, the only legitimate options for a Jekotian citizen for employment was with the Territorial Council or as a farm-hand.

Agriculture was one Jekotian industry that survived the take-over. The farmers could sell to the ICA Agricultural Authority which took over the food supply operations of the former Empire, but due to the tariffs imposed on non-Brenodi farmers, the price they got for their produce was dismal. This promptly created a black-market, where it was far more profitable to sell directly to the people rather than to the ICA AA, which in turn was far cheaper for the people to buy from the farmers than from the ICA AA. The authorities quickly caught onto this however, and entire fields were burnt to the ground in retaliation. Jekotian farms were almost non-existent by the time of the first riots.

During the riots and lead-up to the outbreak of war, a Governorship in one Shire was breached by it's own Territorial Council (quite incidentally full of Jekotian partisans) and the Governor strung up on his balcony. Other's were evacuated in expensive air-operations, where in some cases the Brenodi side took heavy casualties. Local Brenodi residents/colonists, locked up in their apparently secure communities were penetrated and devastated by rioters and organised partisans/NF. Much to the embarrassment of the Brenodi', atleast 2 Governors had become sympathetic and had joined the cause of the newly formed NF by the time it had gained control.

More organised operations were taken out against industrial centers and Brenodi supply routes, including food and munition warehouses, roads and train routes, and within 8 months many long-closed factories were up and running again on a war footing, or producing much-needed necessities such as medical equipment and medicines.

No doubt the biggest and most unexpected development was the prompt conversion of ICA colonists the NF cause as NF forces passed through. There were even many instances of the ICA colonies taking up the cause before NF forces had even arrived. Upon further investigation, the degree of contempt among the colonists was much higher than originally thought. Finance to the ICA quickly dwindled after the initial boom, and many colonies were placed in entirely inappropriate and hostile areas. Many colonies were simply abandoned as colonists found their way to other, more successful but already over-burdened colonies, and by the time of the uprising of the NF, it had been 14 years since the last of the colonies were deployed and most colonists were more than willing to fight for a cause that supplied them with food and arms.

The story of the NF has already been fleshed out by Megel I think, so this is going to contradict what's already been said so it can be thrown out.

The NF flag. The Jekotian flag was red, with 3 white stars in the center representing the 3 old States which originally formed the Empire. The NF flag is similar to this, but the central symbol is from the old-language (older than the Jekotian Empire itself) which translates roughly to "unforgotten idea".

The NF as an organised group was formed and headed by old military men and former government people (who hadn't been locked up upon Brenodi takeover) living in a well known town high up in the Glycen mountains. The people of this region were known for their ruggedness and solid military minds, and it was a region in which new Brenodi rule was rather lax (an unfortunate oversight). The team of hand-picked ex-servicemen was sent to find the old command caverns by a former General in this town by the name of Horst Meyer, one of only 3 men who knew of their location.

I'd change "entire fields were burnt to the ground" to "entire farming colonys were burnt to the ground" just because it sounds more indescriminant and brutal... other than that it all sounds good. I really like finding out about the story of empires, this is great

Oh yeah, it all looks very good Duke save for the explination of the flag. I had explained that the square that is broken into 3 peices represents the factions of Jekotian power, with the largest chunk being the Northern Faction. The Jekotian flag had only one star, the other two were added to symbolize the oppressed farmers on the one hand and craftsmen on the other. Later, when the war becomes stalemated and a Jekotian civilian goverment is reestablished, the original flag is re-adopted with the two headed eagle but rather than one star there are three out of respect for the NF.

Rest of it looks great though.

The ICA.

The Imperial Colonial Authority, or ICA was setup towards the end of the Kolntus-Emin War and reached it's peak just 2 years after the war's conclusion. A growing concern within the Brenodi Government about the amount of land the governed vs. the actual amount inhabited led to a push to colonise the areas. A rough sequence of events is as follows:

-8 months before the conclusion of the K-E war, the ICA is setup, with an initial planning staff. Areas of concern (where there was little or no population) were chosen as first priority, and "appropriate" areas listed for colonisation.

-Several large Brenodi industrial corporations were contracted to design and build appropriate habitats, pre-fabs and equipment for the ICA.

-4 months after the founding of the ICA, the first colonies were setup concurrently, at one point reaching 19 new colonies a day. Each colony comprised of anywhere between 40 and 200 people. People of certain professions were offered large salaries, land and housing and thus there was never a shortage of volunteers - professional or just people getting caught up in the wave of a "New Frontier".

-The ICA expanded to include:
--Planning Authority - the existing department which continued to plan for and evaluate new colony sites, aswell as manage the existing colonies in terms of requested supplies, expansion proposals, etc.
--Agricultural Authority - the largest on-site department of the ICA, they dealt with food distribution, acquisition and management of agriculture on and off-site on behalf of the colonies.
