Minimizing to Desktop

I have a similar problem as this person:

The game minimizes to the desktop, then just crashes and disappears. The game gets as far as the loading screen. I'm about to delete the current installation and try again. I don't believe it's the firewall, as I had it disabled before I started up the game.

 

install 1.0 first, then 1.06, then 1.063 for the comm crash fixes

 

Ah, yeah, I didn't read what I was downloading.

 

reminds me of how it sometimes drops to desktop without rhyme or reason, but doesn't crash or screw up at all

I think I found the issue though

 

Actually, I've found that running Mozilla Firefox and joining at the same time will minimze the game when you finally load in because the game will try to load the message of the day web page.

My system gets confused and it doesnt happen when I close all browser windows.

 

It happens to me (I think) because my firewall is retarded and only starts after another program starts and auto minimizes it for some reason... its happened to me in C&C (TD) a couple times too... so its frustrating, but not that bad...
