Ok so building is really really boring. Heres an idea that i would like to see shot down and flamed to pieces in the space of a few posts. Why not incorporate some kind of minigame into the building so that it not only keeps you entertained, it means good players build faster and are rewarded for their goodness. I have no idea what this game would actually consist of but i do know its an idea that needs discussing.
no i dont i just want a way to prevent myself from going a little bit more insane everytime i am faced with a refinery, 3 turrets and a camera to build with no repair upgrade.
Or, after a long while of dedicated graphics artistry, when you start building a structure it animates as it grows, adding bit-by-bit and seems to come to life with sparks and plates and metal what-not. Kind of Starcraft/any good ole' RTS style. That would keep me occupied for a few minutes
could you make them look like pieces of a building then upon constructing each piece it would look more complete as you go along?
pickjaoe that's kind of what I'm saying, when the Comm lays down a building, it's like the basic structure. When the engineers begin to build, more parts are added/animated into it; giving you a nice little animation to watch in the really slow beginning game.
but that is not really a way to soak up my excess brain energy. That just means i will have to walk round a building to build rather than just when im bored. It has to be a really simple game, as simple as just trying to keep the nanobot stream on target or something.
Tetris would be simple and fun enough. I really like the idea both because it will give the engy something to do AND make him more vulnerable when building (as he should be in my opinion). However it is done, building speed should be no WORSE than maybe 10% of its current speed but good players could get it up to ~20% faster. -Matt
dous anyone know the game where you have a metal whire curved in some shape and a circle with a handle you have to get the circle across the whire from 1 side to the other without tutching the wire the wire is shaped in the building siluet your building
I don't like the wire one... With tetris, I can see it now: Or did you mean for the building to be shaped into tetris blocks and you have to put it together right? -Sheepe
... wow... ... I wasn't at all being serious but I wouldn't mind something like what's shown in the picture =P
