defusing mines gives you a point for every mine after the first, not every 2 mines. i say keep it this way to incourage use of this skill.
Yes, that's good. Message is wrong but one mine is worth 1 rank point. Usually defusers are under big pressure.
yeah, i dont get to stay alive on regular maps long enought to use the skill anyways. i think the skill should maybe even be passive since I hardly ever plan to defuse.
I use it alot, but I've started to not do it since there are so many easier ways to do it. 1. Have more than one person on your team and have them step on it. 2. Duck down and try to defuse it but let option 1. finish it. 3. Tell your team exlactly where they are and tell them not to go that way 12 times. 4. Combonation of all above stated tactics for mine removeal. Defuse should really be buffed, 1 point per mine, a defuse bar, shorten the time, make Nader's invurnable to mines under certian contions(That are optimal for mine defusal.), shortten it, and add a "Disable" level of defused to the mine, like 1/4 the way defuseing it would disable it's trigger ablity, 1/2 disables it's reactive explostion(Other mines going off.), and then full defuse removes it entirely and gives the point.
Another tactic is get someone with revive on your team, and just kill your self on the mines and get one of your teammates to revive you Clears the path and no ticket loss lol
I prefer not to give my enemy free rank points if I can help it. Besides, who's gonna revive you if your medic gets gaught in the blast you just set off?
i woud prefer, that in stead of 1 mine you drop a minefield same way you drop ammo crates as engy 6 mine props in a squair the size of an armory you can drop 2 "fields" (same restriction as turret) witch each act as 1 mine, but can blow up 6 times so 1 jeep wont demine the whole field this way the demine will be used more
It's a bit dodgy, indeed. You can defuse like 4 mines and suddenly you gain 3 rank points after defusing the fifth.
This is a neat idea, but I hate mines with a passion, both real and in video games. I was initially going to say that putting more mines in the game to make people use the demining skill is like taking all the weapons away in order to make people use melee, but that sounds stupid. I say that there is a defused mine radius around a defuser, so they can't be caught in a blast. You wouldn't have to demine areas, you could travel as a group through them. For interest, this is a real minefield in Bosnia, I took the picture myself
I've defused mines with the defusal skill and never had them blow up on me. I've had some OTHER idiot run through the field and detonate them all killing both him and me though. As for the skill, I use it if I learn the enemy has dropped mines. Grab a light tank, drive on through with the defusal skill. They don't hurt me.
That is so damn anoring. Team, gogogo! BOOM!!! *Entire squad dead because some n00b stepped on a mine* God I hate that!
Maybe a scout skill "disable electronics" could confuse turrets and mines in a small radius. You wouldn't destroy them but so long as you hung out in the area your team would be immune to them.
