Lets have a thread for terms that have originated in any military. I know of the following: FUBAR : Fucked up beyond all recognition The 7 P's: Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance Krenzo...got any good ones you've heard of?
SNAFU - Situation Normal: All Fucked Up BCG - Birth Control Glasses. Refers to the standard issue eyeglasses, generally not known for being exceptionally stylish. REMF - Rear-Echelon Mother Fucker (ie. someone in the supply line who doesn't give a damn about how his actions mess up life for those at the sharp end) SWAG - Scientific Wild-Ass Guess. A close approximation Have a blast, man.
DOBRA - Don't Know the real meaning but it means something along the lines of good. A freind of mine who's a NCO uses it a lot (He's A challanger 2 driver)
I checked the wiki and they got a BIG article on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_slang Scary how powerful that wiki is really. Almost as good as FUBAR...but not close enough Alfa Mike Foxtrot (Infantry) "Adios Mother Fucker" abbreviated using the phonetic alphabet. When used in garrison it is a friendly farewell. When used in combat situations it generally means that the person saying it is in immediate danger of being killed.
AWOL - absent without leave .. not in the wikipedia list .. poor performance wikipedia. FUBAR can be fucked up beyond all repair, too (buildings, vehicles .. recognition is for soldiers )
My roommate is in Army ROTC(reserve officer training core) and when he has his buddys over for army things he always uses those damn acronyms.
FUGAZI=fucked up got ambushed zipped in also=greatest most influential anti-mainstream band ever. Originating near me in Washington D.C. :D
