The Pistol whip animation is.. not satifying. Some of us have sudgested a knife however another weapon would complicate things. And yet... both by design are one handed weapons... Perhaps maybe, if we.. Pros: -More satisfying melee animation due to 1. Slashes are easyer to animate 2. Knifes are satisfying -essentialy the same controls Cons: -Removes the pistol whip Alternitives: -Current system -Bayonets(Says Trid3nt)
enough said I don't like the idea of a knife, and the bayonets on a pistols would be extremely akward. And it doesn't look nice holding the knife beside your pistol.
Call of Duty 4's knife anyone? Maybe without the insane lunge though and not instant kill (or should it be? hmm, that would be a fun twist).
Make it a melee tazer. And add a third hand, so you can eat a roast beef sammich while you pistol and taze your way to victoly.
I've wanted melee to be insta kill but i didn't suggest it for some reason. I think it should be insta kill in the back but not to the front. does that make sense? I think giving EVERY weapon melee would be quite a good idea because it gives a feeling of reliability... you get close to an enemy and you melee, no ifs, no buts.
Why would you switch your pistol to your left hand if your going to use the gun at all? If you need the leverage and power for the knife and you use your right hand, you should at least hold the gun gangsta style, because its not going to be accurate anyways. Melee: Knife Sword Chainsaw Bayonet BEST CHOICE! Chainsword
Eh, I have to say, one hit melee kill kind of turns me off every since I went through the horror of play F.E.A.R. multiplayer. Then again, they DID have way too insane of a kick range. Actually, I don't think this game would be too bad with instakill melee, partly because I rarely ever get to those distances in combat. I'd like it if it wasn't abused.
It's fine as it is, melee upgrade is 100 damage I believe. Back on topic: the tazer should be upgradable to a lazer, and then to a lazer tazer! :D
I was mostly refering to the whole 'knife swish' which I think would fit nice instead of breaking our guns on the opposing players heads. It's just a little shared innovation and nothing new (I'm pretty sure it was around before cod4). Since 40k was mentioned, we need researchable powerfists to deal stupid amounts of melee damage to vehicles and what not.
So you want to give the NF an apache revolver? so Im guessing that you are going to play BE a lot then. But seriously melee incorporation in guns never works well(Bayonet being a exception) Melee should not be a concern for almost all soldiers, as if your that close, your very lucky.I whole heartedly approve of a knife or hatchet for such close quarters combat, but make it have a reasonable draw time(unlike COD4)
