I decided to start my modeling project with some things for mappers. BE props are newer looking and have a more well assembled look, while NF uses more of a scrap metal and somewhat rusted but still functional look. For the most part, the only difference is the texture. I have most of the first set of props designed, I just need to test them to make sure they are the right size, optimize them a bit and add the textures on.
Package 1: random crap to drop in the road. ETR: 2 weeks Hedgehogs: _Hhog_Lg, 4m I-beam hedgehog, both sides _Hhog_Sm, 3m L-beam hedgehog, both sides Still working on: 4 sets of sandbag walls per side tank wedges <reserved space>
The hedgehogs are done except for some minor texture work. This is the high poly model for the temporary barrier system: modular "sandbags". Simple but effective.
It's a decent start. Those sand bags look like they took too long to prepare, i would make it a single row with a half bag off set for each new row, making it 4 high and tall enough only to prone behind and be fully covered. Also, if you could make the ends kind of off, and make it look like it was quickly piled up instead of meticulously piled after several hours or preperation.
Those aren't sandbags, they're giant pills which have been covered in denim and stacked using a micrometer. The hedgehogs look like straws, these things are supposed to stop tanks, not hold cocktail cherries.
I can see a giant cocktail cherry with wheels driving around shooting nukes and driven by noob named emp_recruit, who is spamming Rick Astley over the mic inbetwixt random yells of "YewAH, BOOMTANK, yah, this is fun."
You are going to need a huge cocktail cherry, the smaller hedgehog is 2.1m tall, the larger is 2.6m but they are designed to be sunk into the ground just a bit. The end goal for the sandbags is to be able to do custom forms with some randomness in the bags, I just needed a good high rez model for the texture.
