I like them, but the skills menu could be compacted further: Also, isn't all the interface stuff defined client-side in scripts? Could you theoretically make a working version of this with no new code?
This is by no means a "finished" look I was going for. Think of it as a suggestion for the layout of various interface components. The finer details would be up to the Dev team. The idea here was to get rid of tabs and present all three major customization components on a single screen. If things look a bit crowded, that's because I reused the screenshots (from the wiki) of the existing interface. Obviously the graphic assets for borders, buttons, scrollbars, etc. would need to be slimmed down to free up some screen real estate. Hmm... Not a bad idea, let me see if I can mock that up... [Edit]P.S. The PSD is too large to attach (3.8 MB), so PM me if you wannit.[/Edit]
No, I meant if someone wanted to play around with the photoshop file, I can PM it. Anywho, is this any better?
I like it Now get rid of that drag and drop, and let me just highlight the engine (and armour) that I want
That might work for Armor and Engine, but not for weapons since you can have multiple cannon/missile slots.
I like the first vehicle customization chahk posted better than the second. It looks cleaner because each major component is seperated. Would look even better with a different image of the tank to go in one of the boxes, to get 3 angles, but that would take up valuable art time.
Maybe for the engine, make a top-view open end of the vehicle in question. But then again, probably be hard to make.
I like the first vehicle customization picture because it isn't too compact but still it's quick to go through when you have to push some tempo and enemy is in your base with nuke tanks and arties. About the skill selection menu, I don't like at that. Even it is slightly slow to everytime press that drop down menu when I want something in the other menu but first of all that new interface wouldn't fit on my screen and second of all I think that starts to be too compact and in my eyes it doesn't look good.
They work, it's just that if the one you want is already selected, you have to select a different one and reselect it.
