ive installed the game few days ago and its definitely coolest thing running on HL 2 engine, but i have a big problem, there is always half the screen vertically flashing in different colors, ive tried to install again and changed graphics, thats all i can do with my own head coz i dont have experience at all in that gaming engine

well i hope soembody understand what was i saying, heres some pics about the graphic malfunction or something... http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/taivar/
ahh and these one little thing more.. in the last 2 pics the costomization page is bigger than my monitor somehow and it dosent fit it autmatically and i cant see the bottom 2 buttons

I think your graphics card is just fail. Epic fail. What do you have in there, a Voodoo 1?

Huh. That's really weird. Worst case scenario: reinstall Empires. Otherwise, maybe consider updating the drivers for your Voodoo.

ive alrdy the latest graphic driver installed its a was something with 9c, i installed it but i didnt uninstalled it before just installed it again without any deleting any files or uninstalling, so what should i do?

even if u just start the comp and get straight to playing the game still does those things, those things have never occurred with other games

DirectX is completely different from your graphics driver.

The driver is a piece of software that tells the operating system how to use the hardware. DirectX is one of two common APIs used by applications to communicate with the driver.

So I would recommend updating the driver. If that doesn't fix it, then you should try forcing the game to operate in a lower DirectX level.

Which graphics card do you use? Post your specs.

    Commands are -dx80, -dx90 maybe even -dx81.

the Vodoo 2 was my first self bought gaming graphics card

my brother broke it while carving his knife over it to "mod" it

"NO SRSLY, IVE READ THIS ON THE INTERNET IF YOU TAKE SOME OF THESE LITTLE THINGS OFF IT GOES LIKE WAY FASTER ETC THE CARD MUST HAVE BEEN BROKEN BEFORE I STARTED, I SWEAR!!!"

i couldn't make him buy me a replacement even if he did it behind my back without my approval, because my parents decided he was trying to do a helpful deed for me... saved 7 months for it with my allowance, ^^ Oh brother if only i would not love you so dearly ^^

    That graphics card is OLD.

I feel so so sorry for you, 7 months of saving to lose that. I'd have thrown the bugger out of the window, then forced him into a lawnmower.

Yea, That graphics card cannot run the OB engine. you wouldn't notice that because, AFAIK, CS:S hasn't been ported to the OB engine yet.
