Hello. I'm having trouble getting my listen server to go from the LAN list to the INTERNET server list. I am port forwarding for my router and type "sv_lan 0" in console.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Has a friend tried connecting to your server yet by using the "connect 123.456.789:27015" command?

    123.456.789 being your IP ofcourse.

All numbers are between 0 and 255. Its impossible to have an address that breaks this rule.

A better example would be 192.168.1.5

Also, I have run a listen server before and it required no port forwarding O_o

Meh, I'm sure Empires wouldn't even run that well, being that we don't even have the option to "Create a Server" at the menu. I'd hate to see the lag :0

Uh, yes there is. I had like 6 people in my server, and I don't remember any lag. Of course, it ended up crashing, for whatever reason.

For some reason, I'm unable to create any Source or Gldsrc server on my Steam account. It's not my hardware, not my router, not any software I have running... The only constant over the past few years has been my Steam account. You might have a similar issue? I don't know.

I really need to get around to sending Valve an e-mail about this...

I've posted this link in another thread. Try using this steam-account-free standalone server.

Thanks, but I found a similar workaround - I've got it working using another computer on the network and my brother's Steam account. I was trying to suggest that Cwevan's problem may be similar to mine.

It wasn't nearly as helpful as I intended it to be. I don't know what I was suggesting that he try.
