I just started hosting an empires server running linux with slackware 12.1. i can see the server in my steam server list but once i start the game i can't see it, and when i try to join via steam server box it says the server is not responding. has anyone else had this problem or am i doing something wrong?
yes sv_lan is off and i have not tried by ip, will give that a try, and what do you have to do for routers?
you have to go into your router configuration and do some forwarding IP stuff to your computer which you have to give a static IP address too. I did this years ago so I remember all the little details but hopefully that can get you started so you can google it or something. port forwarding I believe.
Yeah i did all that, i got the server up now but i can't see it in the server list still, but can join with connect {IP}, plus after the first map change 10-15 min. in to the next map the server suddenly shuts down and then restarts. any one know how to fix this?
