So you can run over infantry without them hearing. Probably gas turbine as it's never researched anyway.
I like the idea of a 'stealth' rating for engines, which could affect the amount of time they appear on minimaps when spotted, and how far away from a radar they must be to show up. Not so sure about the actual sound tho Also maybe it could affect turret and ml homing?
we have a riflemanbpower to supplement weapons, gren power to supplement armor and weapons and all around tank protection, an engy power for engine cooling and repairing tanks, and a scout skill to supplement speed and a skill that flat out gives radar invulnerability. The ones that stand out are defusal and radar stealth because they are skills that do not supplement but are standalone and 100% immunity. The only other skill thats like it is defusal, which guarantees total immunity to mines and is considered OP by many. We should avoid skills that give a flatout immunity and instead change these to skills which supplement a property of the vehicle. I am an avid scout user and i use these skills all the time. I dont want to cripple the scouts vehicle abilities i just dont think a skill being underused warrants it being incredibly OP compared to others.
i personally like the idea of a noise rating for engines the noise of tank does alot to its prewarming time whereas a more silenced engine could be usefull to ambush engineers doing dirty work (id seriously hate a silent engine) if you ask me all engines should have different sound too fission a slight hummm, gas turbine, dunno bttf delorian?, bio could sound like some cheapass "it got 4 wheels so it must be a car" fiat panda like
A 3 phase engine is actually kinda silent, until it starts to wear out, then it starts making scratching noises, if the coils don't burn out or anything. Wiring a 3 phase engine in the wrong way also causes more noise, and an increased power drain.
Hey! Krenzo is back. Maybe he now can a least update www.empiresmod.com (screenshots/videos). And for the silent engine I don't see the need for this. Infantry have already a hard job against tanks. And getting overrunned sliently from behind doesn't make this job easier.
Krenzo has always been here. He just saves his posts for the ones where there is some semblance of sanity in the thread I think.
