Let buildings be permadetected on minimap

    I think that all enemy buildings that are detected by any means should be permanently marked on the minimap until a detected building has been destroyed and/or your team has seen that the enemy building is destroyed.

    Yeah, the last part is kinda fuzzy. Without that the enemy team could magically know when you recycle your buildings but it's not a big deal in empires like it is in other RTS games. Thought I would just put it in there and see what people think, but it's really not important I think.

    Supreme commander still marks spotted buildings until you SEE them destroyed.

    I think generally it's a good idea to do that.

    Will make ranged arty a little more useful. Don't know if we need this.

    But before adding more visible stuff to the minimap it should first be fixed.

    It would not. One ranged arty destroys a building, gets the rank point and shoots somewhere else. All the other shoot at the destroyed building.

    The point, firewarrior, is that only the one guy who got a rank point knows that the building was destroyed.

    A lot of rts' that involve fog do it that way, the question as always, is how would this fit with the fps half of empires?

    Probably fits just fine imo, on choke point maps you're not really going to see the buildings way in the back unless you have a scout doing real work, in which case they're marked, cool, now how2hit them?

    On open maps your team tends to have eyes on everything the enemy has every few minutes. If you don't have any vision on something you're spamming with arty then it's exactly the same as current, you're spamming an area.

    This idea changes almost nothing, but it would help new players identify important areas to attack, which is what makes it a good idea imo.
