[warning may contain exaggeration] alot of discussion happens about command vehicles turning into nuclear bombs and such [end of exaggerationalizationalisms]. Rather than including the comm veh in this AT ALL [and saves the idea of the comm having no guns what so ever] is having : .The ability to drag a team mate to your base if he is dead [if unable to revive there and then] Reasons?! .when there are no more tickets avaliable it will be useful .[Saves tickets in the first place] . gives another structure for the enemy to blow up [meaning it is a point of interest, i.e like radar & barracks] Stam ussage would be much abliged and speed decrease
u havnt played empires much have u? :p Dicks on servers get the comm and drown it causeing it to blow up and the team to lose.
Hehehe.. You don't want to die close to me in escort... Besides, I heard something that ragdolls(corpses) were clientside, true or false?
Ragdolls are client-side. You don't want server-side ragdolls. They're just another lag source. Not that you'd need server-side ragdolls to drag a teamate to your base. But having to do that is, well, a drag.
While ragdoll's are clientside, I believe the origin of the ragdoll is server side, otherwise how come I always see engineers revive my corpse exactly where I can see it?
Only one way to find out, play on a server with your friend(s), and get killed, then one guy shoots the ragdoll a long way from where you died, and then stands there. Then another guys stands where he thinks the ragdoll is. And how come deathview isn't tied to the ragdoll?
You die at a specific spot, explosions occur at specific spots, and the computers do the same physics calculations. Your body will usually end up in the same spot on different computers because the simulations are almost identical. The biggest factor for messing up this synchronicity is probably lag (performance as well as network). Clients' computers just need to cheat or pass on a few physics calculations here and there and eventually somebody is going to be reviving your body 10 feet from where it's supposed to be.
one liner says what? i dont particulary think there should be ANY last standing sitation power ups / boosts. but alot of people suggest them -- i was just putting up something that doesnt involve the command vehicle
