lagging

when ever i spawn, i start to lag for a few seconds. how do i fix this?

 

When I first connect to a match, before i spawn, i do get lag... but not into the game. is this what you talk about?

it might help to know your system specifications- what's your computer like and more specifically how much RAM has it got?

I always find that I get slight lag when inside buildings, the barracks in particular. Just move outside and see if it goes away.

By lag do you mean net lag or FPS lag? I always associate lag with netcode lag.

 

I think he just means the lag / framerate drop you get when you first join a server and you see message of the day.

when i first got 1.07, it was bad enough that my computer thought the program had stopped responding. which was damn annoying. you end up yelling "GIVE IT JUST A COUPLE MORE SECONDS YOU %$^$% MACHINE." it helps.

 

yea thats what i mean. but you know, that only happens as i spawn for 10-15 seconds. then after that the game is smoother

 

Sounds like your typical barracks LOD problems. Just turn down the model detail and you should have less problems.

 

Might take awhile to find your way out of the barracks like a blind man when you turn it to low though.

 

Turn off bump mapping, and teh fps are go thru teh roof!
