Has this been increase in RC9? I can swear it has as on one occasion, I was shot back a good 3 or 4 metres and I've literally been kept in the air by continuous shooting =/ Either way, I think it should be removed completely or reserved for the really high damaging weapons =/
Suggestion: Kickback removed from all infantry weapons (Except the mortar and grenade launcher) and instead a sort of a small screen fling back added. (Alot greater then it is now) And for all tank machine guns left the same, and greatly increased for direct tank cannon hits/ missle hits...
fling backs are even more annoying. It's what stopped me playing several games before (why was critical hits introduced into CS?) =(
Not mind boggeling screen jerks, but some decent movement (Roughly twice as big or so, of when you get hit in regular HL2) To make you feel like something actualy hit your charachter...
there has been many times where i shoot a guy with a motar as he jumps and made him fly so high when he hit the ground he died
Once in 1.07 I was on top of the bridge in escort and a fellow below me took some shots. He brought my health within 5, but flew me straight up in the air. I had enough time to type "haha" before landing to my death.
You have no idea how many times I've been knocked back while engineering. I've had times that had I not been knocked back, I'd have completed a turret. I may not have survived, but at the very least my team would've survived longer.
Kick back saves my life all the time, putting me behind cover and out of the way. and on escort a couple of weeks ago, i kicked backed dubee a bit backwards on the ledge above me he was on, making him fire his mortar into the floor :D
Or not. Once, I mortared Caelo on emp_isle (at the BE starting point ramp). He got flung up in the air, fired wildly at me and did a full-on faceplant in front of my feet. I lol'ed.
