PM me for password. In addition, empires videos from other channels need to be favorited in order to be displayed on the channel. Let's create a channel which is the go-to for empires on youtube.
We already have TheEmpiresMod as an youtube account, just none using it (well account info is linked in the dev section of the forum).
There's really no specific requirement. I just need people to not be morons and delete shit. Recording anything exciting about the game would be worthy of an upload. Commander chase, vehicle battle, infantry battle, an assault on a base etc. I also need someone to tell me good settings for the videos uploaded so it doesn't look like blurry shit on video. Playing in higher res is preferable I suppose.
This isn't necessarily tutorials, this is just everything empires. Be it tricks, game play, trailers, or whatever else.
Whatever you guys want to do, go ahead, it'd be awesome. But as Brutos said, we already have a developer youtube account, so anything outside that is up to you guys. But if any really nice videos are created, we're always happy to add them to the developer account.
It's just a bother to upload a vid to a host and THEN to youtube. It's better to just upload straight to youtube.
Well, if you guys want a first "job" so to speak, just film 60-100 seconds of kickass footage, cut it up, and we can back it with Werrihukka's amazing music. We have basically no trailer (except the really outdated one), which is fucking terrible.
how the hell do you get a quality video on youtube anyway. i uploaded a 1080p test video to yt and the quality turned to shit.
Yes, replay your demo with source recorder and then use fraps to record on top of it. Make sure you don't use the default version of fraps as it leaves a watermark. Pm'd you the login info
I think Lawliet managed to do it without source using something built into source, and the quality came out good. I'll ask him how it works out, it should be easier if people can do this by just using source and windows movie maker to cut chunks out.
It's a lot easier to record a demo, and then FRAPS the demo, as the FPS doesn't suffer and you can record at really high res.
Yeah, that's the best way actually. I wouldn't mind recording 1080p, but my internet blows and uploading that would take me days (litterarily).
source has a built-in function where you could make an avi file from the demo, or have it pump out every single frame, then you use virtual dub and do some magic, but fraps is much better because your computer won't crash.
no matter how much rape your demos contain, mine will always have much more and in much better style.
