anyone have experience with vmpi on source 2007? I'm trying to run it but I can't get it to work. something along the lines of this: "Initializing VMPI... Can't find c:\program files\steam\steamapps\derp\sourcesdk\bin\source2007\bin\dependency_info_vvis.txt." edit: yes i know vrad doesnt work but i'm trying to do vvis
why do vvis, vvis is the less intensive (in my experience) if you can't do vvis, then there's something wrong with the map
-mpi_SDKMode DrummerX tell that to cyclopean/district. There's absolutely no reason not to use mpi for vis even if it's just 10 min. Then with help of few computers I can get it down to like 1 min.
setting up the shit plus getting people to join (and at worst explain to them how) probably takes you longer then just compile it yourself in 10minutes :p
There's no setup cost at all. You just add -mpi -mpi_SDKMode. If someone joins your MPI it can only get better (Extrems with 8 cores).
well i still remember how long it took to recruit ppl in IRC when we compiled a map before func_visclusters :D
