There is just less room for imagination how things could look like on highest settings.

Try arma2 on fucking huge resolutions, you will be positively surprised by the graphics and negatively surprised at the same time that even moderately expensive hardware won't handle it well :)

I wonder how shitty it would look if the OP suggestion was done by script by just glueing ammocrates on the back of the vehicles :D

I wonder if there is some way to just have the jeep drop an ammo crate by hitting E on the back of it without needing much if any code other then scripting.

Oh look, someone bought a composite jeep again. 225 res wasted. Yay!

Oh god the old armour jeeps. That wasn't too bad given how much lower the hull HP was, but it still wasted so much res.

thus jeeps were unwanted by the community - imo this didnt hurt the game. jeeps were a niche vehicle, not something viable as a weapon ...

I suggest you scrap the existing code and rebuilt a good game from the ground up. That way you don't spend what is likely half the time you spend coding on just fucking with other parts just to get one new feature to work while breaking dozens of other things in the process. But what do I know, I'm just a crap mapper. :S

sure, for trivial software its often faster, but i think you are mistaken if you think that a complete rewrite of empires will only eliminate bugs/glitches and not introduce new ones - you might aswell (and its very probable actually) end up with more and worse of them - it might (and probably will) cost you way more time then to go for a bughunt.
which doesnt mean that i wouldnt think a port to a more suiteable and up-to-date engine would be due - but thats a different topic out of completely different reasons ...

We have no coders after this patch. None. 0. There's no rewrite because there's no-one to do it.

I'll just leave this here... Rewriting code takes a long time.
