Installed but i can't find either a shortcut or the game on steam

Well that explains it, 1.07 runs off of HL2 Deathmatch. There is something you can TRY to play empires, but you might just end up getting messages about how you "don't own the game." Open up the gameinfo.txt in your Empires folder, and change this line:

		SteamAppId				320		// This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2).

It is set to 320, which is for HL2 Deathmatch. Change it to 215, which is for Source SDK Base. Simply owning a Source engine game should allow you to use Source SDK Base, you just need to install it from the tools tab in steam. After making a change in gameinfo.txt, you should restart steam. Empires should be in your gamelist.
