Clouds post voting for hexi is just to try and throw people off I reckon.
The way I see it. It could come out 2 ways in clouds head

Hexi dies, cloud looks unsuspicious for being good person to kill infil
Cloud dies, hexi looks framed

But if we kill them both it turns out they're both crappy infils.

So if he lied, someone should know, someone who is now basecrew and wouldn't have anything to loose by revealing himself as basecrew, that said, It seems you're accusing without evidence since cloud ALWAYS writes about himself being infil ... hexi seems not to understand the point of the game (searching clues), so that's not evidence either,

Well, if you want to kill me, then I suppose that that's fine.
However, if anyone else wants to step forward as the grenadier who killed vulkanis, be my guest to do so.
Empty's accusation of me makes him seem all the more suspicious, at least to me.

As I said, I'm accusing random people to attempt to get a rise out of them.
And if I was the one who killed Blizzerd, I would be a really retarded infiltrator.
So obviously, someone is framing me for that.

Because after his successful revenge kill the grenadier reverted to standard base crew.

This means he's a non valuable target for the infils and the real grenadier would speak up for this very reason, ...

 

What we know for a fact is that our grenadier killed an infiltrator and reverted to base crew after that. Hexi revealed himself to be the mentioned grenadier. No one else disputed that.

If Hexi lies: The real former grenadier would come out and accuse Hexi of lying. We then would have to kill two people and would get a guaranteed infiltrator kill out of that.

If Hexi tells the truth: Only an infiltrator would come out and accuse Hexi of lying. We also get a guaranteed infiltrator kill out of that.

Bottom line: If you have a role that can be revealed, it's the best strategy to do it. It is a lose-lose situation for infiltrators. They can say nothing and therefore the non-infils get one person they can trust. Or if the infiltrator fake reveals himself, he will be the primary suspect after the real role got killed.
