Iv been playing empires mod for a few weeks now and I love the game. But one thing that I noticed (and I could be wrong) is the lack of upgrades for infantry or buildings. It seems everything is about the armored currently. My suggestion is to have some sections in the research tree that focus on improving infantry and buildings. For the infantry upgrades you could have it so the research unlocks additional skills be it class specific or the general ones for that team to use. And for buildings you could have upgrades for improved resource gathering, reinforced walls, building defense upgrades(maybe a manned turret?), reduced cost of vehicle construction, ect.
Infantry upgrades have been suggested, but I like yours! Also, building upgrades would be nice indeed. Reminds me of StarCraft, if you upgraded your Protoss Shields, it affected every unit that had shields, which was all the units and buildings!
It's planned to tie infantry into the research system. And personally, I think tieing buildings into research would shift emphasis away from the soldiers and fighting, which should be at the heart of the game because the soldiers are, after all, the players.
That'd be fun to buy upgrade body armour, like composite body armour or regenative body armour... or reactive! Lol... -Sheepe
i want the bigger buildings to have shields make them quite strong and on destroyed they need to be recharged for like 8 minutes then they reactivate then your "upgrades" can inprove the shields effect
what about nano buffers? same like energy shields of starwars crap yust a more realistic form basically its nanobots forming an absorbant shell over the building (not like a bubble but on top of the metal) litterally absorbing the bullets shot at it and deflecting most of the damage
i dono about shields but maybe manned turret upgrades and anti tank shell chaff guns or something for buildings.
