Infantry Armor

    I couldn't find anything in the search, correct me if I am wrong.

    What if infantry got a 5th utility slot to select armor?
    Ofcourse this is a problem with the rifleman because they already have an armor slot, but here is the idea:

    Kevlar Armor:
    Classes: All
    >Decreased damage taken from bullets <> -10%
    >Increased damage taken from explossions <> +10%

    Plated Armor:
    Classes: Grenadier, Rifleman
    >Decreased damage taken from bullets <> -25%
    >Decreased damage taken from explossions <> -25%
    >Decreased speed <> -40%

    Flack Jacket:
    Classes: All
    >Decreased damage taken from explossions <> -20%
    >Increased damage taken from bullets <> +15%

    Bio-Hazzard Armor:
    Classes: All
    >No damage taken from biological weapons
    >Increased damage taken from bullets <> + 20%

    Experimental Armor:
    Classes: Scout, Rifleman
    >Increased speed <> +30%
    >Increased damage taken from bullets <> +15%

    Not a bad idea, but I think it would be better to mould armour around a purpose, than the other way around, for example;
    Armour that can take on tanks - Flack Jacket; better explosive protection
    etc

    As I see it the Bio-Hazard Armour that you have there is completely useless

    You do know that biological weaponry is reached very often do you? It is pretty usefull for engineers, its not funny if I try to revive someone but die because I am hit by a biological projectile :(.

    I will add the flak jacket ^^

    actually upgraded armor types has been mentioned quite a bit.

    Upgradable, but I think that is to much. Having Regen Armour, Composite Armor, Reactive, ect. Would benefit an entire team isntead of promoting individual strategies.

    i fail to see ur logic in how its bad by having individuals deciding on what they want themself... but oh well.

    (or perhaps it was the other way around?, i had difficulties understanding what u said)

    I promote individual skills, instead of having to benefit the winning team. Researchable armour would benefit the winning team. As they can research better armour then the losing team. Instead I promote to give both teams the same avaidable infantry armour.

    Wait a minute..

    When you say : Increased damage, you mean like 20% more damage than without that armor? So you kind of upgrade yourself to nerf yourself?

    Yea takeing more damage is stupid. Mate dont less things just to kiss the devs ass and make it sound balanced cus at the moment it is uber unbalanced. ALL of the armours should take away standad dmg just some should be better vs diffent types than others. ^^

    It is not stupid/silly, reactive armour sucks against rails but is good against HE but has a massive weight, is that stupid?

    I udnerstand what you mean, but there should be some bad side else everyone will use it. But, I shall edit it and try to balance it out...

    Let's explain it this way, this is a concept.
    Plated it 20% more effective versus Explossions and Bullets, but it decreases your speed by 40%.
    So you will have slow paladins crawling over the battlefield.

    The problem is that there are not that many damage types, from what I remember we have got explossion, bullet and melee damage. It would be nice if different weapoons did different types of damage, then we could make armour more easily.

    But ofcourse, that will make the game even more complex.
