The scout and binoculars are practically worthless. What I suggest is perhaps the scout can zoom in and then left click to massively reveal any enemy units the scout can see with his binoculars. The enemies continue to appear on the map and the HUD of everyone on your team until the scout dies or after awhile of the scout not being able to see them. Pros Would make the scout very useful as a team asset Cons Work for devs Might encourage camping Do I need to speak any clearer?
its not that useless. units spotted by the binocs stay targeted way longer then with F-W-W. you can only target a single unit (hint: try comm) that way though ...
Yes, but it is slower and you have to press buttons 3 times. This massively spots a bunch of targets with just 1 click.
so that half of players go scout since it gives you wallhacks again? youd just have to spot before you run around a corner. sure it takes a bit longer then auto or comm targets but it has a similar outcome. also the the targets would need to die with the scout and shouldnt stay for longer then 5sec, IF this gets considered. targeting is really powerfull, you shouldnt downplay the advantage you gain by knowing exactly where your enemies are ... oh also the "requesting artillery on my position" sound for binocs should be gone or limited to once per minute (plus)
It disappears if the enemy is not on sight anymore. Also, only 1-3 scouts would be needed for a team still to effectively gain awareness of where the enemy is. That is what a scout does, it scouts for enemy positions and movements. It should in this game.
You get points by it = Incentive = Get picked. Too many people go scout = Too many medics in Tf2 = Low amount of points for everyone + Boring role = People go other classes. It all works out.
