Imperial VS NF whats your favorite gun?

Hi guys

I just started playing empires about a week ago and i must say overall i think its a great mod and im quite hooked on it atm

First of all id like to say that in my opinion a good team / commander is the main deciding factor in the outcome of a game , though i think a slight weapons imbalance causes most players to be biased towards the imperials and often the teams are unbalanced because of it.

Personally i am happy to play on either team , though given even teams i would choose empire for the standard assault rifle because of its sick accuracy and dammage. If i go NF then i use the scout rifle because the NF assault rifle doesnt compare.

Although it is my favorite gun in the game i feel the imperial assault rifle could use with a bit of a tweak down ( or the NF rifle a tweak up), its a bit silly (but fun if your dishing it out!) being able to chew out anyone no matter the range or what wep there using.

Also i think the pistols are way to accurate. I can scope up with my scout rifle then switch to pistol (whilst holding the mouse deadly still) and get kills at range.

My last grumble is with SMG`s , presumably there available to engineers as a softer option to the assault rifle however they seem quite comparable and i am often chewed out by them at mid-long range as a scout.

Overall tho you`ve done a great job developing this mod , i love it!

Priming as a Brenodi, I'm a rifleman at heart. I usually vary between the 3 guns, but I usually use the heavy rifle, sometimes assault and heavy machine gun the least.

 

The BE assault rifle is slightly better than the NF AR but I like to think it's balanced with the NF heavy rifle being better than the BE heavy rifle.

Can't really comment on SMGs just now as I believe their effectiveness is induced by the knockback "effect" which I hope is being removed soon.

 

Ranged rifle is my favourite, with the Brenodi equivalent in second. The Brenodi one just seems less reliable...

 

oh, yea. Scout rifle is my favourite all round weapon. 2nd being the NF heavy rifle.

 

Brenodi assault rifle, i can kill lots of things with that gun, other guns just pale in comparison (for me)

 

Read the changelog, BOTH SCOUT RIFLES ARE THE SAME. (capitalized for those who just go straight to posting in threads) That said, I'm gonna have to go with the RR as my fav gun. Second favorite will be the shotgun, if it ever gets implemented. Because... I like shotguns. If it doesn't get implemented, NF shotty pistol. 12 dpb (damage per bullet) ftw!

Except for how much screen they take up, which is indeed a very important factor. Good call dee.

 

probably a psychological thing. I personally prefer the NF scout rifle based solely on the model (doesn't take up a quarter of the screen)

 

If both rifles are the same then why is the Brenodi rifle's crosshair approx. 5 times as large when moving?
I don't care, anyhow. In my experience the NF one performs much more reliable in terms of actually hitting what you are aiming at (I'm talking medium to close range, not those stupidly long shots where the assault rifles are better - bold to make it stand out for skimreading Whinefulmen).

 

buckshot pistol is my favorite gun. Too bad i rarely play nf.

 

Brenodi AR, then Brenodi HR, then Brenodi SMG1, then NF AR, then NF SMG1, then NF SMG3.

The Ranged Rifle is actually a cannon now instead of a rifle.

yeah the assult rifles do seem a bit inbalanced, then again maybe im just crap with them, when stuffs balenced out though i think they should have their own strengths and weaknesses so they have some character, i play alot of battlefield 2 and it seems a bit half arsed that all the pistols do exactly the same damage and a sniper rifle that should blow someones limbs off does the same damge as all the other bolt rifles...

 

NF heavy rifle, without a doubt. Extremely accurate, hugely powerful, with quick controlled fire. Oh, and perfect for owning people when they ambush you.

I'll use 'em all though, depending on what I feel like doing.

 

Standard BE SMG. Theres nothing better than killing someone who's weapon outclasses you, the smg just needs a little loving and a little patience

I think ranges of all guns needs increasing, also they all feal really.... bland at the mo.

 

Brenodi heavy. Hands-down owns all at medium ranges.

 

My favorite gun is the Grenadier's mine Even when someone is yelling "Watch out for mines!!!!!" there will still be that n00b who will walk right into yours blowing up half their squad and netting you a promotion :p

 

I use anything depending on the situation, usually just the standard of the class because i need to do something very fast
