Just go watch higarushi (I dont remember the correct spelling) Its pure fun and laugh if you are into that kind of brainfucking stuff. If you were /s then Tvtropes if you are more on the int mode, or just go watch people play wh40k, Dungeons and Dragons or Call of Cthulu. Its quite interesting stuff.
That mature anime stuff was a joke, by the way. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, Kai and Rei? Watched them all, along with Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. Ni was a mindfuck, Kai made it all make sense, and Rei was decent for not being part of the main story. Chances are good that if you name something, I've already seen it, downloaded it but haven't seen it, or know of it already. Those two hard drives on the right, the external ones? About 2.5TB of that is anime, if not more.

Tell me what genres you like, what you're looking for, and/or what shows you've seen that you've liked and not liked. I haven't seen any of the "newer" shows since the end of Spring 2011 due to having no one to discuss it with and losing interest for that reason, but I still have piles of good stuff.
Steins;Gate aired in Spring through Summer, and it was the one I absolutely made sure I finished. That one was absolutely amazing, most shows can't invoke that kind of feeling of hopelessness in a viewer. It was beyond horror and terror, just sheer despair.
That one was a tear-jerker. It's happy, sad, happy, sad, and finally bittersweet. Like anything made by Key, but not nearly as jarring as "Happy family time!" followed by "DYING IN CHILDBIRTH"
Basicaly anything else that pure moe and ecchi bullshit that doesnt have redeeming qualities doesnt bother me, but im more into the action ones. I tend to avoid soap opera stuff like naruto or bleach. watched slayers up to try, couldnt find any 4th or 5th series oddly enough first hellsing full metal panic most of the brainfucks you listed. Elfen lied was not the best choice for the first thing to watch. Brainsplosion was had. Code Geass Berserk Trigun all FMA's Black Lagoon Death note Haruhi and azumanga for shits and giggles Crest and Banner of the Stars NGE Claymore Basilisk Cowboy Bepop Samurai Champloo Afro Samurai Ergo Proxy FLCL All Ghost in the Shell TTGL Excel Saga and some others which names elude me right now. I have some on my list hellsing ultimate Akira Chrono Crusade, solely on the amount of Death and other unhappy stuff on TvTropes that links to that one. And some recommendations. From 4chan no less.
