...approached Krenzo and asked if he would like Empires to receive SteamWorks, would he accept? I'm just concerned because I haven't heard anything about SteamWorks for this mod, and I want to have it without having to check this website for updates every time (I am a new breed of the mod community...the lazy-boy mod guy who wants automatic updates). I am actually missing Empires...like...don't know why, but fuck I want to play this addicitive piece of shit.
Yeh search was my friend...but me and search fell out... So now I'm looking for a new friend called answer. :D
Some devs have access to SteamWorks for quite some time now. They said something about polishing Empires a little bit more before they want it on Steam. But i think 2.24 + a little built in newbie-help is ready for Steam.
2.24 is sounding good. I haven't played Empires since I think 2.1, or was it 2.2... :/ But anyway, it looks as though Empires is ready to take on SteamWorks...from a version perspective. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes so I can't speak for the devs. I just hope that we can see it on SteamWorks publicly this summer.
Would be great if the Dev could code in voice overs like the ones in Battlefield. You when you first time pick a class, or pass a building, a voice with pop-up text explain what it does. As example; When some plays Engineer and a other teammate in vicinity calls for a medic, a voice-over should tell him he can heal him with his engi tool.
The clouds above the n00b open, a bright sunbeam points down to him: A loud voice enforces "Kill the enemy Command Vehicle at all coast!" the n00b cuts down trees, builds an ark and waits for the water to raise...
