Yeah, had to figure that out on my own. Damn, that was a bitch. My first all-out computer build didn't go quite as planned.
First ones never do. I remember opening up my old store-bought 486 and one jumper fell off the motherboard from who knows where. ONE. That machine never booted again.
If I just bought something that costed more than $30 and something as small as a jumper vanishes I wont just say 'Meh I'l scrap it'...I'm going to find that god damn jumper and spend the next 15 hours figuring out where it goes on the mainboard, or I'l make my own damn jumper out of tinfoil!
Heh, the problem wasn't that I lost that jumper, the problem was that I didn't see where it came from! And you remember those old mobos, they had rows of jumpers all over the place. No Interweb or Google to search on for the manual either. On the good side, it forced me to upgrade to a Pentium-90 and made a nice paperweight
QFT!!! You bastards and your fancy high end products and having enough money to destroy something I can barely afford :D well........maybe it's because I'm only sixteen. I think I'll be able to afford my computer in about.............4-5 months By then, I fear everything phaser8 recommended will be obsolete. Curse technology. Curse low paying jobs. Curse parents who think I should find the value of money and won't buy me shit. Curse my shitty computer and turn it in to an amazing godlike rig 20 years ahead of its time.
My machine is over a year old and it so far handles the latest releases fine unless you want high quality. Every new release for a large 'system killer' game such as Far Cry, Half Life 2 and Doom 3 will always require a upgrade. Just like how my machine cannot play FEAR as its outdated technology. Value of money...hmm. Luckily my parents realize that I am a 'computer' man and dont preach to me bullshit about 'go outside and play some sports' or shit. Tell them that you know the value of money...thats why you're having a friend compare prices and specs on video cards to save you the most money without sacrificing quality If they say 'Get outside more and play some sports' tell them outside is the following: 1. Skin cancer ( from sun ) 2. Deadly bugs ( killer bee's anyone? ) 3. Dangerous fungi Then go on to tell them how being actively involved in say track or football will seriously fuck your lower legs up from all the excercise. I got a few friends who know people in things like track or soccer, from what they've told me you end up knowing your sports medicine doctor more than your mother In the end the system I detailed will be a mid range system in 6 months, in 24 months it will be low. Also dont forget prices drop basically on a daily basis so in 6 months it will probably be 15 to 25 percent lower than it is now.
...No offense, but how much do you weigh? Yes, boys and girls, exercise is good for you. Take a weights class or something. You don't even have to go outside.
Or just walk, walking is some of the best and safest exercise you can get. We're simply made to do it. Running however is stupid... POWER WALK YOUR WAY TO THE FUTURE! -Sheepe
Man, I exercise every day. I play football and I lift weights very often. They just think computer are teh evil, and that money doesn't need to be spent on them. Sure my dad will pay tons of money on football(which I hate) but nothing that's actually fun. The only think I like is lifting weights. That's all the exercise I'll ever need. My guns are pretty big too And yeah, when I said everything will be obsolete, that was a bit of an exaggeration That was just my self pity coming through in words I apologize :D Oh yeah and last season for football, I pulled my upper quad and our sexy trainer lady gave me a massage there. I could barely restrain myself.............but I kept it soft
Not necessarily true. Get some cardio. My word, could this possibly be a case of TMI? Why, I think it is!
I do jumping jacks, little jumpy things, and other stuff before lifting, and I do run the occasional couple miles I play airsoft with my friends too. That's a lot of running.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok :D OH yeah I have a computer question, would anyone recommend buying things from ebay? I've never used ebay so I don't know its credibility.
I purchase PC parts from eBay from time to time and so far (knock on wood) have not had any trouble. I just practice some common sense, trying to avoid shady deals (the "too good to be true" ones) and protecting myself against scammers. Honestly though, the money you save buying stuff on eBay is not worth the risks you take when not buying through reputable buisnesses.
