I havent played this game in a long time. So I decided to play again. But when I loaded it up. and entered the only active server. I hear the server join sound.I can hear gun shots but still I see the loading screen. I hit the ESC button the pause screen shows up. I have deleted. Re installed this game 4 times. And I have no idea what to do next. Any help would be great.
mkay, what CPU and Gfx card do you use? Empires runs only on CPUs that support SSE2 and GPUs that support DirectX 9 or above since some patches ago.

Half a gb of ram and an FX 5200. I'm surprised you can even run solitaire to be quite honest, and I don't mean that offensively. That really is ancient.
when I still had a FX 5700 Ultra, over 8 years ago, I already ran into trouble (instant framedrop) when doing burn-outs in GTA:SA. And that was only one cheap particle effect EDIT: Are you able to play TF2 propperly (including all the particles and blood)?
We don't require SM 3.0. There's dxlevel 90 check in rendering part. In Steam patch 1 there's check right at the start so it won't give black screen without saying anything. oyotnas: ensure you aren't using any tricks like setting DX (level) to lower than 9.0.
I'm sure you can play a lot of games from 2001. There are smartphones out there that have more processing power.
