Ähm for all this Naps And NooBs ...... http://www.empiresmod.com/1_08_was_here_the_whole_time/ Krenzo, use HA ;-) Greetz
technically anyone can see that folder, so yeh bit shady, but who cares right, its not ultra secret, just don't give it away.
hmm, I was about to post that this was obvious and to ban would be a bit harsh ... until I saw the other thread what a donkey
I still don't get it, what was that other topic about? Edit: Nevermind, i was going through the wrong topic, not the one in the blackhole.
As many have posted, we already know this, in fact i'm making use of this "feature" when i mirror the RCs on my website to dynamically make a page with both locally stored links and Krenzo's on one page. http://eth0.uk.net/downloads/Empires_1.08_RC/
There's nothing to understand - he (whoever the idiot who posted this "HTACCESS" stuff is) doesn't even know. This isn't an htaccess problem - there's nothing to hack here. htaccess has NOTHING to do with this. A simple index.html would hide these files...but what does it matter, anyway?
I think he kinda means that there should be an index.php to check for the forums cookie to make sure the downloader is a member of the forums, however if anyone actually knows about that directory they will probably know enough to just go back to the forum and register.
Then that cookie checking software needs to be implemented within the forum, to check cookies right...you could allow people in ONLY if they were referred by this forum...
