How to fix Steam Friends ''In Mod'' glitch

This has been a very known problem the over last few months, you are playing a mod / third party installation.
Your status shows up in steam friends like this:



Oh yea, we all hate it!!! But this is a easy way to fix it!

Simply go to steam/steamapps/sourcemods/Empires

In the mods folder, you will see a text file named ''gameinfo.txt''



Open ''gameinfo.txt''

It will look like this:



Simply add a space by tapping your spacebar once after ''Empires 2.24''

Now restart steam and start playing without anyone from your friends list spamming PMs just to ask what you are playing.

Add me at Steam if you got problems

*EDIT* This bug is now fixed if you have the latest steam client update! HOORAY VALVE!!! You guys finaly fixed it!!! >

Nice find! I am going to do this to all my mods with this problem.

 

Sounds like someone at Valve made a bad regex pattern lol

 

I think valve fixed this bug in a steam update not too long ago anyway.

 

Yup, but it only works on your friends list, not if you look at someones community profile.
