Help i suck at mapping!

    Okay, im trying to map.

    i followed this http://wiki.empiresmod.com/index.php?title=Basic_Mapping to the letter.

    i can't compile. i get this error

    I think I'll fit this in the same thread too,

    Everytime I PLAY one of my compilied Empires map, they crash, is there anything I'm doing wrong? As I've got a few idéas I want to turn into maps, but just .. can't.

    Make shure you have the entities that are really necessary built in your map. If those don´t exist, the map will ALWAYS crash in Empires.

    how do i refresh my SDK content? remember i'm a TOTAL noob to this.

    i deleted the local content of the SDK and redownloaded it. exact same compile occours

    You can refresh the SDK-content by clicking on the option in the Source-SDK (before starting Hammer).

    There's an option to do so in the SDK menu.

    If it still won't work, you probably didn't configure hammer correctly.

    i refreshed the sdk-content, put myself on the beta so i could work in episode one. in the sdk menu there was an option to start in episode 1 in a dropdown box. did that. made the empires configuration thing.

    i tried starting again from scratch, i got this error report

    What beta? You don't need to be in a beta to work with ep1 tools... just put "-engine ep1" in the SDK launch parameters

    JCW, it's easier to put it in episode 1 mode by using the beta, you'll actually be able to see wether or not you've set it to episode 1. y the looks of it, your registry is messed up, try using a registry cleaner.

    Check "don't run the game after compiling", and manually open the map ingame. Make sure you've put all needed entities in the map, and that the minimap and resource files are present for your map. You don't need a minimap specific for your map, use canyon's minimap or any other minimap.
